In bad odour
My dog peed in one of my boots. My favourite boots. Which now smell of Dettol, which is going to be almost as hard to explain as them smelling of dog wee.
Any suggestions for getting rid of dog pee smells please?
Aren't dog's wonderful! You can buy solutions to make the smell go away or get some baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and make a solution to clean your boots and get rid of the smell. 4 teaspoons to a litre should do it.
Baking soda is also great to get rid of the dog wee smell anywhere the dog has been and it should help to stop re-offending in the same place as it breaks down the ammonia, which other cleaning products may not.

When my elderly dog started having accidents I tried everything to get rid of the smell and finally found a product called PetWhiffOff, it's made by a company in Wales and has special enzymes that eat the smell. I was amazed at how well it worked, even old smells were gone, it saved me from having to recarpet! I can't recommend it highly enough! They have a website, just google the name.
Fizzion works, It's not cheap but it does work. If you want something cheaper then a solution of Bicarbonate of Soda works (Sodium Bicarbonate/Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate)
Biological washing powder/liquid in warm (40'C) water - the enzymes in the detergent deal with all the smells from both human and canine points of view...or smell!
I swear by four paws industrial strength stain and odour remover.

ReplyDeleteI use Safe4 disinfectant on where my dogs pee in the garden slabs. Safe4 also do Odour Killer. It is great, kills any smell of wee.

ReplyDeleteWashing powder diluted with warm water works well for my older dog who sometimes has accidents in the house. Smells lovely too.
