Looking to find a noisy toy

Here's a picture of my Cocker Spaniel Badger in the snow, he is nine and a half years and sadly his eyesight is going but he has a real zest for life.... Does anybody know if there is such a thing as a toy that makes a continuous noise when you throw it? He loves to play fetch, but is finding it hard to follow the ball now his eyesight is failing, and if it made a continuous noise he would be able to follow it, and therefore find it.
If you know it could make a little dog very happy...

I'm thinking the Wiggly Giggly off the top of my head... but is it continuously noisy?Anyone got any other ideas?

  1. Has Dawn thought of putting a cat ball inside a tennis ball and using that? I've got some with bells inside, so they rattle as they're thrown.

I had a small giggle ball which I put into a tennis ball to stop Fred breaking it with his teeth and yes it sounded like it was continuous to me while it was being played with. If it did shut up when stationary it started up again a few minutes later. I was glad when the battery died!

  2. What about a scented toy? Something like a http://www.dfordog.co.uk/acatalog/orbee_tuff_orbee_dog_ball.html
Or a giggle ball for dogs.

  3. I don't know about a toy with a continuous sound, but if you don't already do it how about hiding a favourite toy in the garden or on a walk & sending Badger to find it. Or better still, hide some treats on, in or under obstacles, remembering to reduce his dinner so he doesn't put weight on.
I know it's not the same as a chase game but a close second.

    Good luck.

  4. Thanks for your replies, we have tried cat bells in the ball and putting lavender oil on the ball, both with a small success when playing in the field but niether is suitiable for playing on the beach and in the sea which is where we spend a lot of weekends in the summer... We looked at buying a Wiggly Giggly but we could only find hard ones, and Badger prefers soft toys preferaby ball shapes ... Thanks again for taking time to reply, the search will continue.... 5. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Soft-toy-NUTHATCH-bird-which-makes-noise-if-squeezed-/200560978441?pt=UK_Soft_Toys_Bears&hash=item2eb25daa09

If Badger isn't too rough with her toys what about something like the above, which is a bird that when squeezed sings. It doesn't last that long but long enough for her to go out and find it. There were also some dog toys that played animal sounds, which seemed to go and on, but that could have been because they were so annoying!! Hope you find something soon.
