Where can I get advice about feeding a dog diagnosed with megaesophagus? I have seen a video on Facebook where a a dog ‘stands’ on his back legs in a sort of three-sided box, flips a tray on a hinge across the front of the box, and the owner places the food bowl on the tray so he can eat comfortably. Are these chairs available in the UK or are they home made? I would love to know how owners have trained their dogs to eat in this way.

Solid decision
Dear Dogs Today,
I picked up your magazine as we’ve put our names down for a Cocker Spaniel pup when the litter is born later in the year and before we welcome him into our family I’m doing all the research possible. I hope you can help me please.
We’re first-time dog owners and I’m unsure of how best to introduce our pup onto the food we’ll be feeding him. At what age do pups start eating dog food, and should I ask the breeder to start feeding our choice of food while he is still too young to leave his mum? If so, what age is this?
Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

In a pickle
Hi
Like lots of people, I'm trying to save the pennies at the moment in any way I can. I'm vegetarian, but my husband and two children do eat meat. I was thinking of taking my dog (Fred, a Smooth Collie) off canned food and feeding him the same food my family eats. Would this be okay for him?
My family all eat organic food and this is something I'm keen to feed Fred. Does he need to have much meat? He's currently on a well-known brand of canned dog food but I'm not sure how much meat is in it anyway and how much is cereals. I've heard of veggie dogs but I'm not sure how good this is for them as I always thought they were carnivores. Can I feed him a mainly veg diet? I do not want to compromise Fred's health. How many vegetables are safe to give them, and are there any I should avoid?
